Our Growth Journey
Adla Industries is led by a strong family leadership team and continues to grow as a trusted manufacturer of plastic household goods and footwear, producing over 10,000 units across its product range and serving retailers, distributors, and households across Africa.
1995
Two brothers, Ahmad Ali Jawad and Youssef Ali Jawad, begin their business journey as cross-border traders and importers of various goods across the region.
Early 2000s
Through years of trading experience, they identified a growing market need for affordable, reliable plastic household products and transition into manufacturing, establishing a plastic household goods operation in Malawi.
2018
The business expands its product offering with the introduction of a footwear range and opens a dedicated manufacturing plant for both household products and footwear in Lusaka, Zambia.
Growth & Expansion
Operations continue to scale, with increased investment in machinery, workforce, and infrastructure, strengthening Adla Industries’ presence in Zambia and neighbouring markets.
Our Story & Leadership
Adla Industries’ journey began in 1995, when two brothers, Ahmad Ali Jawad and Youssef Ali Jawad, started as cross-border traders and importers of various goods across the region. Through years of hands-on trading experience, they developed a deep understanding of market demand, supply gaps, and the growing need for reliable, affordable household products.
Recognising a clear opportunity in the market, the brothers transitioned from trading to manufacturing and established their first plastic household goods manufacturing business in Malawi, focusing exclusively on everyday household essentials. This strategic move marked the foundation of what would later become Adla Industries.
In 2005, as demand continued to grow, the business expanded its product offering by introducing a footwear range. That same year, a dedicated manufacturing plant for both household products and footwear was established in Lusaka, Zambia, marking a major milestone in the company’s regional expansion. From its beginnings in trading, Adla steadily grew its operations in Zambia, evolving into a fully integrated manufacturing business serving both local and export markets.
Today, Adla Industries is guided by strong family leadership and a shared commitment to quality, innovation, and long-term growth. Founded by Ahmad Ali Jawad and Youssef Ali Jawad, the company is now led by a dynamic team of directors, Mohamad Ahmad Jawad, Ali Ahmad Jawad, Ali Youssef Jawad, and Hassan Youssef Jawad. Together, they bring decades of industry experience, strategic insight, and a unified vision that continues to drive Adla Industries’ expansion and leadership across the plastic household and footwear manufacturing sector.
